Four Things

I feel like I haven’t been home in weeks when in reality I wasn’t gone very long! I have lots of travel planned over the next few months and can’t wait. After my recent trip to Austin, I decided to take the plunge and go back from Paleo fx!

Crockpot Chipotle Chicken

I love how easy it is to cook chicken in the crockpot. I have a couple chicken crockpot recipes on my blog (here, here, here). I am constantly trying to think of ways to cut down on kitchen time, and I always go back to my crockpot. You can make so many things in a crockpot. It is pretty crazy!

Paleo Oscar Party Foods

So a little known fact. I was actually in the move industry for a couple years. I love movies especially independents! I love throwing themed parties, and what better way to throw an Oscar party than to serve foods inspired by the movies up for Best Picture!

Paleo Cranberry Pesto Meatballs with Butternut Squash Mash

I’m recovering from a whirlwind trip to Austin, Texas. Just a little fyi a 14-hour round trip car ride isn’t the best idea for a weekend trip. Granted it was only supposed to 6 hours each way, but we ran into a little issue with the highway being closed on the way there which tacked on two extra hours!

Four Things

This week has flown by partly because I came home from one vacation on Monday only to leave yesterday for another trip. I’m so excited to finally visit Austin, TX! This city is a hub for paleo. There are so many paleo-friendly restaurants, bloggers and paleo companies located here.

Cinnamon Apple Kombucha

I started off my home brewing journey in mid-December. I was nervous about buying a scoby online so I decided to follow Steph from Stupid Easy Paleo’s instructions here on how to grow your own.

Paleo Sweet Pepper Chili

So I guess winter is sticking around after all. Don’t worry I have an official countdown to spring. Only 31 days to go. So close yet so far away. I got a little winter relief with a short vacation to the gulf.

Four Things

The second installment of Four Things. I am way too excited about this series. I love sharing the books I’m reading because I’m a nerd and love to share. I can spend hours combing Amazon and Goodreads looking for my next book to read.

Paleo Strawberry Cream Cheese Pancake Stack

Valentine’s Day is one day away people! If you have someone special, I hope you already made plans. I’ll be spending the day eating chocolate, drinking wine and thinking about how much I miss the beach. My one true love.

Paleo Sun-dried Tomato & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken

My life feels a little boring right now. Time seems to slow down in the winter. The monotonous days of cold and snow drag with no end. Grey skies block out the sun giving the landscape a dreary outlook. I miss LA winter. It isn’t even a real winter, which is why I love it the best.

Paleo Cranberry Chia Cups

The weekend has once again come and gone. No surprise there. It happens every single week, and every single week I am surprised how quickly the weekend flies by. The snow from last week still hasn’t melted leaving me feeling trapped indoors.

Four Things

I’m excited to start a new Friday series. Each week I will share four things that are currently inspiring me: a book, song, quote and recipe. Sometime I might throw in a movie. When I started Plaid and Paleo, I planned to make a lifestyle cooking blog.

Paleo Chocolate Raspberry Jellies

I have to say it. I am not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. I have too many “favorite” holidays, and Valentines simply doesn’t make the cut. For me there is too much hype. Too much pressure for it to be an amazing day.

Paleo Umami Brussels Sprouts

I feel like it has been forever since I did a vegetable post. Okay so I did post the bloomin’ onion a couple days ago. Evidently my memory isn’t to hot right now. I blame the weather. I’ve lost track of my days with all the snow.

Paleo Chorizo Breakfast Burrito with Avocado Cream

Sunday was one of my favorite holidays. Nope I’m not talking about the Super Bowl. I do love the Super bowl, but I love this “holiday” more. Can you guess what it is? Groundhog’s Day. It is probably one of the most random holidays, but I have been a fan for years.
